Detailed Information about IMFX Format

Contents of an IMFX file The IMFX file format was developed and is used by the State Customs Service of Ukraine (this institution is currently called the Ministry of Revenue and Duties of Ukraine) for data exchange between the customs authority and declarants. Currently, all documents submitted electronically to the customs service, including messages sent and received during the electronic declaration process, are contained in files of this format. Such documents include: the customs declaration, the customs value declaration, the accreditation card of a foreign economic activity entity, the vehicle registry, and others.

Essentially, a file with the *.imfx extension is a regular ZIP archive whose extension has been changed to "imfx". Depending on the purpose for which this file is used, its contents may vary, but in any case, creating nested folders inside it or setting a password for this file is not allowed.

Files provided to the customs authority on removable media must contain a "doclist.xml" file, which contains a list of the documents contained within this file; there can be an unlimited number of them. The document files contain data in XML format.

The contents of IMFX files used for exchanging messages during electronic declaration differ in that their content must be signed with a digital signature. Such files must contain an "envelope.xml" file.
